Raising A Reader (RAR) is a national non-profit organization founded in 1999 focused on early child literacy and family engagement. Our mission is to engage caregivers in a routine of book sharing with their children from birth through age eight to foster healthy brain development, healthy relationships, a love of reading, and the literacy skills critical for school success.
Students Rising Above (SRA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization supporting and empowering low-income, first-generation students to access and obtain post-secondary education and secure career-ladder jobs, fueling a diverse and inclusive workforce and thriving economy. Every year, Students Rising Above accepts applications from Bay Area High School seniors who are interested in becoming SRA scholars. We select students who demonstrate drive and potential,
