Youth Transforming Justice (YTJ) goals are to keep students in school and out of the Juvenile Justice system. We accomplish this by deploying several strategies. 1) The Marin County Youth Court uses restorative trauma-informed protocols to divert juvenile prosecution. The successful complication of the program removes the citation’s record. 2) We support schools in lowering suspension rates by training staff and students in the practice of restorative trauma-informed Alternatives to Suspension.
The Siena Youth Center (SYC) is a cherished non-profit program of the St. Francis Center whose focus is on providing a safe, fun, educational, and active environment for the youth and families in our community through our after-school program, summer camp program, and community center. Petaluma People Services Center (PPSC) Mentor Me program seeks to empower young people (k-12) to reach their highest potential by matching them with a mentor.
